Frequently Asked Questions
We have answered some common questions and concerns below. If you do not find the answer to your question, please check our new patients page or contact us.
How does Wellness Concepts treat acute pain and sports injuries?
Our unique approach starts with comprehensive personalization of your treatment plan. We tailor the types of treatment (chiropractic adjustment, massage therapy, NeuroVascular Release®), the tools (cold laser, therapeutic ultrasound, etc.) and stability exercises to your unique case. We focus on restoring stability to joint structures. Our goal is to rehabilitate your body back to optimal health, not just to make you feel better short-term.
What is unique about acute pain treatment at Wellness Concepts?
Our acute pain and sports injury patients can expect:
- Personalized Treatment - We begin with a thorough assessment of your health history including any past injuries and pain issues. Once we understand your needs, we develop a personalized treatment plan for your unique case.
- Blend of Treatments - Your custom tailored treatment plan may include a variety of treatment modalities. We may use multiple forms of treatment (chiropractic adjustment, NeuroVascular Release, massage therapy) along with different kinds of tools (cold laser, therapeutic ultrasound, heat/ice, electric muscle stimulation).
- Time with a Doctor - We are not a "chiropractic factory." A typical session is 30 minutes with a doctor of chiropractic who will employ a blend of treatments and tools in a single session. We aim to give you the maximum health benefit from every session.
There is nothing "cookie cutter" about our treatment. We are focused on quality of care, not quantity of patient visits.
I’ve tried everything but chiropractic. Why would chiropractic help me?
Medical doctors are trained to treat health issues with biochemical solutions (i.e. prescription pharmaceuticals) or surgery. That type of treatment is helpful for some conditions, but often patients need something more. Chiropractors are trained in physical solutions to health issues by correcting musculoskeletal problems.
Chiropractors are the only doctors trained to diagnose and treat "vetrebral subluxations," a misalignment of the vertebrae in the spine. Vertebral Subluxation Complex (VSC) can lead to a host of health issues by interfering with nerve function and blood flow. We employ a combination of techniques to correct spinal misalignment in order to reduce nerve irritation, and restore blood and lymph flow. A wide variety of health issues can be improved by restoring proper skeletal alignment and joint mobility.
What can Wellness Concepts do for me beyond chiropractic adjustment?
Wellness Concepts combines chiropractic adjustment with soft tissue body work. We utilize a variety of treatments that are complementary to chiropractic adjustment
. Depending on your case, this may include NeuroVascular Release®
, massage therapy
, cold laser, therapeutic ultrasound, stability exercise and functional nutrition.
What insurance companies do you accept?
We accept all insurance, but we may be considered out-of-network for some health insurance plans. We currently participate in-network with Blue Cross, Medicare, Beat Street, PHCS and others. This list is subject to change, so please contact our office for details.
Does my health insurance cover chiropractic, massage therapy, NeuroVascular Release® or laser treatments?
This depends entirely on your health insurance plan. Many health plans offer some coverage for chiropractic diagnosis and treatment. Please check with your insurance carrier for details on coverage terms including eligibility, deductibles and co-pay. Note: If you are seeking treatment due to an automobile accident, please read our auto injury treatment
page for details on Personal Injury Protection (PIP) coverage in Florida.
Do you file all the insurance claims for me?
We do file insurance claims on our patients' behalf, and we do our best to verify coverage with your insurance carrier. However, patients have the ultimate responsibility of payment for services rendered. Each patient should confirm coverage with their insurance provider.
Do I need a referral from my PCP?
Please check with your insurance company. Chiropractors are considered primary physicians in the state of Florida, so typically no referral is needed.
Do you work in conjunction with my primary care physician (PCP)?
We are happy to work with your current primary care physician. Treatment plans can be sent to your PCP upon request.
What if I don’t have insurance? Is there any discount for self-pay?
We are happy to see patients who have no health insurance. There is a time of service discount if you pay in our office at the time of your visit.
