The system promotes collaboration between fundamental movement and performance through the use of two tools - the Functional Movement Screen™ and the Selective Functional Movement Assessment™. Both tools evaluate movement but are separated by a clear distinct marker. That marker is pain. If movement produces pain, the individual would be sent through SFMA. If pain is not present, then the FMS may be the appropriate tool.
Cold Laser Therapy
Cold laser therapy is a powerful tool for treating pain and inflammation. Studies show effective pain relief for many musculoskeletal conditions including acute sports injuries, joint injuries, tendinitis, sprains, arthritis, back pain, lumbar pain, plantar fascitis and more . We employ a super pulsed laser that can penetrate up to 5 inches of tissue to treat a wide variety of pain issues.
Ultrasound has been shown to speed the healing process and increase blood flow in the treated area, leading to reduction in pain and swelling . It also gently massages muscles, tendons and ligaments in the treated area. Ultrasound promotes tissue repair, including the softening of scar tissue.
A car runs only as good as the gas you put in it, your body is no different. We must nourish our body if we expect it to repair and respond to treatment. Whole foods are the best approach, however synthetic vitamins have a time and place. Each patient is guided toward appropriate supplementation for their specific needs. We recommend Juice Plus as a simple beginning for those who want to improve their intake of fruits and vegetables.
